Test strips for water quality?

As someone who tests my own tanks regularly and works at a pet store, and so tests customer's water also, if given the chance I always opt for a liquid test kit. I feel that for most aquarium hobbyists though, strips are convenient and while not necessarily very accurate, they will tell you if something is going wrong enough to be a danger to your animals. I usually keep a bottle of them in my car for testing water in the field if I feel I'm bringing home sensitive fish that may need to be accommodated for in regards to unusual water chemistry.
