As long as each piece you cut it into is big enough with a growing tip at the end, that's a good way to propagate it. Three inches or more is good.

yeah I do agree with you on the mess. I am DIEING to get some java moss for my driftwood. but never had teh chance to buy some off of aquabid yet. unless some of you fellas know where to get a good amount cheaper.Quite a bit of info about hornwort in the forum archives. Nice looking stuff when it's doing well, but creates a mess with all the leaflets breaking off if portions of it begin to die.

If you can't get it locally, ebay is another option. Just glancing at auctions there, looks like you could get some for well less than $5 including shipping. Even if you're only able to buy a small amount, you'll wind up with quite a bit within a few months.I am DIEING to get some java moss for my driftwood. but never had teh chance to buy some off of aquabid yet. unless some of you fellas know where to get a good amount cheaper.
