I tried to set up an account today (using my same screen name as I use here) and it seemed to work OK... but... when I try tolog in I get an error message... is there something else I have to do... or just wait, or what?

I never got an email, so never could follow the instructions... I was afraid that was the problem... something like activating the account?Check your email (and follow the instructions?)
I see you have registered and been approved this afternoon.
If you have additional problems logging in, just let me know.
Here is the error message I am still getting as of just a minute ago...

Uland, I also tried to "recover my password" and it said that it was sending an email to may email address... but I never got it either... did I maybe have a type in my email address? I got the following message...
Recover a lost or forgotten password
Recovering your password requires that your user account has an email address assigned, and that you have access to the listed email address. A confirmation will be emailed to you containing a URL which you must visit to set a new password for your account. To prevent abuse, password recovery requests can not be attempted more than once in a 20 minute period. A recovery confirmation is valid for seven days. If it is not used during that time, it will be purged from the system and a new request will have to be made.
Your recovery request has been sent!
Note that if the account does not have an email address, you may not receive the email and you should contact your system administrator for help.
Administrators can use the Emergency Password Recovery page to recover the admin account if they fail to receive recovery email due to server problems, or lack of a working email address.
