Hello everyone!
My name is Mike McMicken, I live in the Plainfield area and have joined NANFA in the last month. I have Mark Hylton and Uland Thomas to thank for getting me hooked (pun intended) on the native fish here in Illinois. I went on a sampling/photo trip last summer on the Kankakee and look forward to many more trips in the future. I'm still learning the ID's (speak slow to me) but have a lot of good resources to keep me informed.

I have always been a "traditional" angler as most of us probably have been in the past, and still are. I will never fish again without adding at least a dip net to my gear. I went sampling in Morgan Creek and Aux Able creek recently and have a few pics that I will post shortly. I am relatively close to the Fox River and Illinois River areas (Starved Rock in particular).

Hey Mike!
Thanks for joining NANFA and the forum as well.
I hope this rain stops so we get in the water again soon.
