never seen those before.... thanks for the ident. Now I must do some research and find out more about them... There are hundreds of them in the creek

Yep, Logperch (Percina caprodes). And some nice looking ones at that! Logperch are a cool fish to have in the tank. Kind of mild-mannered, but they have interesting "personalities". If you take one home next time and have larger pebbles in your tank, they'll flip them over looking for food. It's pretty neat! Nice find!

They were pretty cool looking. I got a big kick watching they dart around the creek. I may set up a 15 or 20 long and try my hand at keeping them. I need to do a bit more research first.
