I got some bait fish over the summer and some of them have died. They waste away and I suspected parasites. I fed some food that I treated with metronidazole for three weeks but the sucker is still sick and about to die. What types of diseases are common from bait stores? The fish are separated from my other tanks. I have also some baby sunfish, fathead, and shiners. The shiners have those black trematode parasites.

If you indeed have a sucker, some species fail to thrive in captivity long term. Especially if they are already fairly large.

Your fish could just be waisting away and not necessarily sick. Are you seeing signs of disease that could be different than my speculation?
