Your description of "free", does that include the artemia nauplii? And other foods. It might be the most expensive free feeders you can get.
Artemia nauplii? Screw that, I have never needed to breed brine shrimp for any fish I bred, especially convicts.

Yep . As long as the fry are big enough. Bullhead fry could eat it... I think. Not as nutritious as baby brine though.
