Well, while I went "swamping" all day today, I came across a large amount of fry, and while we were fishing for channel cats, I seined a large area. I ended up getting 4 FW Drum fry, didn't even know until I came home and identified them. They have the same fins, same mouth, etc. I did the best I could at identifying, i'll try to get some pics to confirm later. My cameras somewhat... busted and operational whenever it wants to be. They're in the bass growout tank (somewhat larger than the LMB's). Any info, links, etc. about them? I know the young feed on mainly insect larvae, etc. any real experience with them? Any help is appreciated, seeing as i've never really heard of people keeping them before (only hearing some bad reports here and there). I didn't measure them yet (just got home at about 11 at night), but really, they're about {--------} that big or around that.

Thanks.

EDIT: Well, so far, along with the bass, they're eating adult brine shrimp and newborn crayfish.. it's a start I guess lol.

Freshwater drum are cool fish IMO, very interesting. I hear they are difficult to care for though so keep us posted.

I caught this guy on Saturday, on a crayfish actually.

Please excuse my nephew, he's a little... odd:

I have one left atm, it kind of hides as I expected it would. We might be going back to the spot, and i'll try to get about 2 more- this time they won't be going in with the bass though. Although they're just "fry" they're already starting to show some aggression issues. I'd love to try and raise at least one drum, but i'm putting it off a little. I'm being sent a batch of Needlenose Fish (Xenentodon cancila) eggs and fry, a fish i've been "studying" and releasing info for the past 6 years, and it's likely going to take up a lot of time. They're notorious to raise, really never been successfully grown out, and become cannabilistic (keeping my fingers crossed lol).

I'll update this if anything new happens!
