Well i just got some rainbow shiners that eat flake food very well, but some of the fish have swollen bellies does that mean i have some fry on the way or does that mean i could have fry on the way ( if they spawn)

Maybe neither... shiners will eat until they have very distended bellies... look carefully at the fish before they eat... maybe you are not making baby fish... maybe you are just making fat fish
