I recently decided to give it another try this time with a Peacock Bass. I was at a pet store looking at the fish and found a poor beat up peacock with tattered fins and scared for his life. He was in with a '5-star general' fish that was very aggressive. I made the fish guy there put his sibling in another tank away from 'the general' and brought this one home. And so the journey begins...
I recently found out the peacock bass is considered a cichlid? If so is it ok to discuss on forums?
This fish lives in specific places in Florida waters were it was introduced to U.S.A.

This is not really appropriate. Peacock bass are not native, and information and discussion on their care can be found on many dedicated cichlid and general fishkeeping sites. I'm going to go ahead and close this.
