When my 800 gallon pond is set up, I'd really like to stock a few longnosed gar. The problem is, all I can find for sale are the Florida subspecies. I have no idea where I can catch some in the wild, if I could catch any, and if I even want to take them out of the wild personally.
So a Florida subspecies would be a problem for Maryland winters, wouldn't it?
