Hello, I'm new to keeping sunfish and I really like the coloring and personalities of green sunfish and warmouth sunfish. What would be the better species to keep in a 55 gallon tank? Also what kinds of tank mates would it tolerate? Thanks in advance.

Either could work well. Greens adapt well to aquaria and aren't so picky about food. But they're guaranteed to eat anything even slightly smaller than they are. Warmouth are usually more laid back, although they're certainly capable of inhaling smaller tankmates. If you want one large, beautiful fish in a tank get a green; I've done that with a 20 gal.
