I recently bought 200 Fathead minnows from a local breeder/distributor. After getting them home some of them are dying. They get white blotches on their mouths, tails or bodies and die. It doesn't seem to be a fungus although I'm not sure (I have treated for fungus anyway). It rather seems they lose the coloring in these blotches. My water parameters are fine, they are in 3 different quarantined established tanks. Anyone ever have a similar problem? Any idea what the problem could be??

Flexibacter. Tough to cure. I would personally cull all fish that are showing symptoms, and the treat the remaining fish.

At one time I bought a couple hundred from a bait dealer and all but about 10 of them died of something that sounds similar to what you have. We bought out next batch from folks that bred them for toxicology studies and they had no problems! Awesome little fish fatheads.

Cheers
Peter
