Can these be kept in a tropical community tank with guppies, mollies, etc? How can they be sexed?

Longears are pretty good ambush predators, so it would have to be a very small one. They might not like fully tropical temperatures; anything above the mid-70s F would be stressful I'd think.

they could live with them while small but like Fundulus said they will eventually be large enough to eat some of those fish. Temperature wise however they do just fine in rather warm water even up to the low 80's, but mid to upper 70's would be a more natural summer time temp for them.

I would say at least a 30 long tank, the tall ones would not work as well, you want more space side to side instead of vertically.
