This park has 3 or 4 lakes and a small man made pond.

The pond and adjacent lake

The pond is stocked with some beautiful exotic carp . I think it might have a tumor on the left side of it's dorsal fin.

The park the lake is in is a very historic place. The lake used to be the main water supply for NYC. Even though it doesn't supply water anymore the basic infrastructure is still there and it became a popular tourist attraction.

This is called Miracle Bay Spa. Many people come here to take a mud bath. The mud is very rich in nutrients. The dead sea mud has nothing on this.

The upstanding citizens of the  local community is very involved in maintaining these beautiful grounds. This section of the lake is sponsored by the Crips Philanthropic Group, also know as Blood Killers.

With medical marijuana becoming more prevalent aqua-phonics is becoming more prevalent. Instead of using chemical based fertilizers which harm the environment, the grows utilize what nature gives them. Everyday is earth day for them.

One one hand, the posts are amusing, but that place is in a very sad state of affairs.  I guess collecting at night would be considered dangerous  8-[.

The tidal Potomac is a beautiful place, teaming with wildlife and fish, but at the same time, all you need to do is walk the shoreline and see the same kinds of stuff littering the banks trash presumably from DC and above.  There are annual cleanup events, and people do show up and do a nice job, but it doesn't take long for that stuff to return...just a storm and a few tides.

On the other hand, I often thought of making money by collecting basketballs, volleyballs, toys and coolers, cleaning them up and putting them out at yard sales.  A buddy of mine actually found a leather basketball that was in excellent shape and took it home...
