I have used the bags over as well, but I have found that after the first use, the bags tend to lose some of their elasticity. I depend on this stretchiness to help reseal pinhole leaks that might form from spine sticks. It really is amazing how these bags can "reseal" themselves if the hole is small enough and the pressure in the bag is low. I also just don't like the feel of the bag nearly as much after the first use. This is strictly personal preference and I have not read anywhere that the actual performance of the bag suffers.

Huh? If you flip them inside out, then the ink will come off into the water. If you use them properly, any ink that rubs off will end up in the box, not inside the bag.
I think that it's not a good idea to flip them inside out because I've found that the outside printing comes off easily and I don't know if it will be ok for your fish if your fish manages to dislodge some of the ink during transport or if it dissolves into the water.
Just the same, since gases can be transmitted through the bags, can ink, if it gets wet? I hope that they use non-toxic ink.
And yes, I reuse them. Not as a primary containment bag, for that, I always use new. Old bags may have leaks from untying them, or other leaks from handling. But for fish that have spines, requiring double-bagging, I will use a rinsed-out old bag as cushioning, with a new bag on the outside to provide a seal. I prefer not to double bag unless it's necessary, though, although I've never had a report of a dead fish from a recipient either way.

I want to ship sunfish. Old bag inside a new bag sounds good.
Has anyone tried some other cushioning? Maybe pot scrubbers?
