okay, I have a tight fitting lid made of wood and has nice screen mesh. I also heard that if put in a semi-aquatic environment they will live shorter lives. So no more paludarium, I faintly though "lets put in a leopard or wood frog" then i wiped it away. in the lower part I MIGHT make it so ghost shrimp can live in there MIGHT...so far its coming along.

This is probably really stupid but what about American toad and tiger sal? I'm guessing if the tiger got the toad it would die? But won't they be about the same size?

I think you'd be OK with them together.

As long as the toad is reasonably larger than the salamanders mouth, it could work. Make sure you have a separate tank in case there is an issue or there is not enough space for both.

Alright so it's 26 degrees here but I found thawed dirt!! I have no idea how but I'm going to have 1/2 inch of this covering the whole tank and just see what decides to grow out of it, making it look more natiral

Okay so I'm thinking about doing a cutbank, my parents won't let me buy anything so I'll just get a leopard frog instead, and maybe some minnows or a madtom

The trim is horrid, but I got it from my teacher last year as a gift so can't complain

Here's the very rough place Kent for everything, it has a log jam root ball for the fish or leopard frog to hide in as well as a few trees. There will be a background d covering the left and back walls. Lots of duckweed maybe a rush or two as well. Then whatever grows in the dirt I found. 897bbc759e93d80b621fb5452257cf12.jpgc90d39b69ce2a790c7a6d9cc61eda6f9.jpg

Here is the tank so far, maybe will have water going up to the 2nd level or might not have water. So the 3 finalists for the tankbsre 1-2 American toad, 5-7 boreal chorus frogs or a leopard frog 6205f4b2f32ddc61c064d3b8fc8e831d.jpg

Okay here it is as of now, I'm debating on adding water up till the the second layer, maybe for minnows, leopard frogs or western Chorus frogs. I'm leaning towards Chorus frogs.2b1df88ff229289b510e9ace0013b004.jpg52aea07d3427c658a2f5c4e67982d7ab.jpg

It's looking good.  Won't be much water, if any fish at all keep them tiny maybe least killies which are actually livebearers.

Another update, the tank is getting some hardscape. I found some natural "bark" rounds with the inner core rotted out leaving me rounds
