I'm sure there isn't any vibration there, also I only had enough black gravel for a thin layer like 5mm, the sand layer was 25-30mm.

I've caught and kept Southern, Mt  and Northern Redbellies and most of them seemed to prefer small pools with over hanging brush.  In my tanks I add small branch groupings over the top or in the top layer of water and they tend to shoal in those areas and act comfortably.
