I dropped some chopped cooked shrimp in the tank with him last night and it scared the bejeebers out of him. He came out from under his broken flower pot hiding place and bounced around the edges of the tank two or three times. I've never seen a bullhead swim in the opposite direction of food. When I turned the tank light on this morning, the shrimp was gone, so I guess he settled down and ate it.

mine is very skidish, it acts like the speckled and tadpole madtoms that i have kept in the past. mine will come out to cruse the tank in the morning when the tank lights are off, (i would be he is out at night to)
it will come out to eat blood worms or chase down the occasional shrimp or gambusia
my water params are, 7.2 ph, o ammonia, o nitrite, between 20 - 40 nitrate (i just put a bunch of floating plants in, and java fern)
