Nah, we're not that good. Disease will knock us back into 500,00 BCE, and the remaining darters will start speciating again :)


Global warming will turn the S.E. streams into either a boiling cauldron or a block of ice, depending on whom you believe, and thus the darters will all die.

You could be right about disease though. The more populated the planet, the greater the likelihood.

Actually, the USDA models are predicting climatic cooling in the SE due to sulfer dioxide "shading" (so maybe they will freeze).

Still dry as a bone though. Looked like east TN, NC and VA are the places to go. Especially if you're a loblolly pine :)
