All,
Here's a pic I took of a Fantail Darter (Etheostoma fabellarae) in one of my tanks tonight. Thought it was cool so I thought I'd post it. The plant in the left of the photo is Hygrophila difformis. I'm trying to grow some Illinois Pondweed (Potamogeton illinoensis) in the tank, but it hasn't had a chance to take-off yet. I'll have to post some pics of that if it does well. Anyway, here's the pic!

Nice looking fantail. Mine usually stays hidden until feeding time. I wish I could get a good shot. Nice pic and nice fish.

Come to think of it, my fantails tend to prefer hiding out, whereas the rainbows and variegateds tend to be exhibitionists. I have a large one in breeding colors that I call Big Red, who remains under a rock until feeding time. No problem coming out if food is present, though.
Handsome specimen there. My fantails are well behaved in the tank, and very curious - there's not a nook or cranny in the tank that they don't poke their nose into at some time.
