Ok well I know that a few species are supposed to live here, but I can't find any for the life of me!!! I have been actively collecting for over 2 years now and I have never caught or even seen one. So whats the trick?? I would love to have one for my stream tank. Thanks everyone!

I have caught Tadpole Madtoms in a seine, along with pounds of weeds, in Middle Lake near Hastings, Michigan. I usually catch madtoms when kicking rocks, the larger rocks, while looking for darters.

Where are you in Michigan?

I'm in midland michigan. Like I've said, I've been collecting for a while now and I have turned over probably thousands of rocks in all types of bodies of water and I've never seen a madtom. Plenty of bullheads though.

I live in Birmingham, Michigan (About 2 hours from midland) and I find myself catching too many of them in the rouge river! I don't try to catch them but I end up with about 10 everyday after collecting!
