Such a thread, for each of the assorted darter species complexes, would be a terrific idea. I'll gladly help out with the orangethroat & E. squamiceps groups, and then perhaps you can get the folks who have worked/are working on the other complexes to pitch in as well. Let's get in touch offline, maybe later in the week?

Could you possibly add to your profile where you are from (generally) and what you do? It sounds like you have some valuable insight that you can contribute to the forum. It would be nice to know where you are coming from. Thanks, and welcome!

I, for one, would love to have some more knowledge of E. spectabile. I have personally collected what I think is 3 different E. spectabiles (at least 2 for sure). I have attempted to get information from the person in charge of non-game fish at the KY dept. of fish & wildlife, but he will not email me back.
Sure got my curiosity up. I think I'll get back to the N fork of Elkhorn this Sunday to see if I can spot any of those 'thoroughbred' darters. I have the headwater darters from Rockcastle, plus the ones from that secret little stream we found that seem to follow the headwater pattern, but they're slightly different.
