I'll have all the Busch Light you can drink. That should cost me about $10. You can pass out in the spare bedroom again.

Hey, "Skipjack"! Awesome tank! That is a really fun project. Now I know why you don't get anything else done :) I really like the very naturalistic decor. That's not easy to do. You clearly have an eye for aesthetics. I also like the green color of the trim. I don't know why that hasn't caught on from Eheim to other manufacturers. Maybe it's a cost thing. I will be interested to hear more about how the refugium progresses. What is on the back wall of the inside? Did you describe that earlier? I haven't read the whole thread.

Thanks all for all the positive comments! I am quite proud of it, and extremely happy that it actually worked!

itsme, the back wall is covered with 16x16 inch slate tiles. Home depot.

Updated videos. The stream tank all grown up.

Quality is not fantastic, my camera is not the greatest when it comes to video.

Roughly 19 Etheostoma, 6 Percina. Over 120 darters total in the tank. Grass shrimp, least killi, gammarus, and lots of other inverts in the refugium. This tank actually had a great midge hatch a couple weeks ago.
The refugium also has about 50 pounds of hornwort growing in it. After three months in operation, nitrates are still around 5 ppm.

Cost:
2 sheets 3/4 Bc ply $50
1 gallon fiberglass resin $30
5 fiber blankets $25
screws and glue $10
Glass $60
Silicone $10
Total to make a useable tank $185.
Upgrades I am adding Black interior marine epoxy $60
Aluminum angle top support, could use plywood $40
Without my upgrades, roughly a buck a gallon. Could probably find a used tank for a similar price, but the dimensions on this tank are key.
I am not sure that this is better than buying a tank, as I am so stoned from epoxy resin right now that I really can't think too straight. I am sure that the larger the tank size, the more cost effective it becomes.
But nonetheless, I wanted to build one.
I am so impressed with this fiberglass resin that I am sure this tank, as long as it is not moved, will last a lifetime. Moving it could potentially cause fractures in the joints, though not likely.
With luck, I should have water in it within two weeks.

Skipjack, what's the green edging around the viewing window? It looks like pre-formed trim of some sort.

It is simply 3/4 inch pine outside corner. Home Depot.
