Just a quick note. Tennessee has a free fishing day June the 9th. So those who would like to do some fishing in Tennessee Saturday don't need a license.

I have often synced NANFA trips to the Tennessee Free Fishing Days for free seining, followed by always free snorkeling on Sunday...

But this year's date conflicts with the NANFA GA convention.

That same day we will be listening to talks, enjoying speakers, having a fancy dinner and ending with our 2018 auction.  That will be a very full and busy Saturday.

Naw, I've put on a few years since then!

I look foward to meeting to you at last!  Is your avatar portrait a recent shot?

Updates to the Convention Web page (look for the orange font) with:

  • General Updates
  • Open registration is over (we have to let the College know about numbers for rooms and meals).  Contact me for any last minute changes.
  • Letter from the Georgia DNR regarding collection of fishes
  • Details on our Thursday night activity (In the Lab with Johnathan and Camm)
  • Details on most of the field trips (more to come)

Future communications will likely be by email with the attendees.  If you don't get such an email, then you are probably not registered. Contact me for clarification.

So.  Looks like the dipnet stays at home.  I wonder if "take" means taking the fish out of the stream, looking at it, and putting it back in?

I am highly bummed out, but I'm not able to go this year's convention. There's an ongoing systems implementation for my dept at work, and "no days off in June" is being held to.

Everybody else have fun !!!

You, my friend, and honorary Georgia NANFA, will be missed.  And talked about... Kathy and Mary are doing presentations about the Autrey Mill Aquarium!

Josh, that would have been a good idea. I do need to hook up with you for some wet-foot work.

Have others had trouble buying a GA non-resident fishing license online?  I've tried 3x the past few days, and the website won't let me proceed without a Hunter Safety Certification #.  Have others succeeded without this?  If so, how?

Gerald,

I used my state as the state and "none" for Hunter Education number.  Worked fine and printed that way on the license.
