Thanks so much for you comments. Its a work in progress.

I miss the tannins. I experimented a bit with tea bags but have not found the right combination yet. As far a maintaining the tank I do two water changes a week. Even with running two large rena canisters and all of the plants this tank requires a lot of work. I fert the tank after every water change. I am currently using the seachem line of ferts.

I added a new fish this past week. What a beauty...

Beautiful tank joshua! Is that a pumpkinseed/bluegill cross?
