I have an outbreak of hair algae (green, some is gray in color but from my research that is considered green). I am finding mixed feedback so looking for experience. I have a newly added central stoneroller in my tank. Seems to take more to the carnivorous food vs plant foods. Likes black worms and frozen mysis and brine shrimp moreso than readily available duckweed and hair algae or pellet food for that matter. Anyone have experience with them cleaning up hair algae? If no then what would be a good alternative?

Sorry in advance if the last question takes this out of the minnow and sucker realm of discussion.

This has been discussed at some length in the past, including several times very recently

Central Stonerollers as Algae Eaters (Jan, 2010)

Which Algae Feeder to Choose for String Algae (Aug, 2009)

Google: algae eater site:forum.nanfa.org

Funny, from the 2008 thread:

This oughta be a sticky or something. We see this question in various versions frequently. No criticism meant to the poster, just an observation.
